WHAT IS THE STUDY CIRLE ABOUT & WHAT IS THE AIM?
As LGBTQ assylum seekers, we’ve faced a lot of emotional trauma & physical trauma in our countries of origin us to Sweden to seek asylum. So the art study circle is focusing on our feelings in regards to healing but to also express our emotions & feelings through art.
There is also beading in which we will be creating bracelets & braces as a form of art & making words that will be expressive of our emotion.
The core subject of this class is emotions and feelings & sharing experiences as LGBTQ Assylum seekers from the different parts of the world! And this is the primary target so all members can suggest topics on which we can paint & also bead (this is in regards to the bracelet)
WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?
The study circle is open to all, inclusive of RFSL volunteers and well wishers, allthough the RFSL Newcomers members take the priority seats in the study circle.
NOTE:-
We will all be kind & respectful of personal boundaries so no photograph unless those featuring in the photograph consent to it.
Everyone’s feelings are valid so it’s a safe space to express ourselves.
After three times and in the end of the study circle will hold an exhibition/sale .In which we will raise awareness about the LGBTQ assylum seekers through the art we’ve created & also raise funds that will go to a special pot (fund)
The first exhibition/sale is is at the Christmas market at Karlsgatan 2 on December 9 and 10 between 10.00 and 16.00.
